2010 Sires

Polo
QRNS
(Hawk x Cheyenne)

Polo has a lot to offer to our wether ewe flock and also as a purebred sire. Purchased from Greiner Club Lambs in 2008, he is Cabaniss bred. Polo is extremely long patterned, handles with a lot of muscle and proportion of hindsaddle and is well balanced. He will add more natural thickness to our Hampshire ewes and we are very excited about his potential stud ram prospects.

BLT
RRNN
(Wild Card x Trowbridge 98-236)

Powerful.  That’s the first word that comes to mind.  BLT is one of the biggest topped, stoutest made rams we’ve used at ISU.  Purchased from Bott Club Lambs this past summer, BLT will put stoutness, bone and structural correctness into his lambs.  His ram lambs will make great stud rams.

ISU 7104
RRNN
(ISU 6121 x ISU 3106)

Sold to the University of Wisconsin-Madison, 7104 has become the breed leader for the 120 day weight EPD.  As a 6121 son, he has ruggedness and structural correctness to compliment his genetic superiority.  Thanks to UW-Madison for letting us use him.

Reference Sires

HO 5118-05
RR
(HO 8346-98 x HO 1200-01)

Purchased from Dean and Connie Houghton of MO in 2005. Moderate framed, heavy muscled and well balanced. He is now deceased, but his legacy continues in the lambs he sired. A lot of his sons were sold for stud rams and a lot of his daughters make up our ewe base

ISU 6121
RR
(ISU 5180 x ISU 2039)

He was one of our favorites at ISU. Stoutness and balance were transmitted from this sire. His lambs were fast growing, heavy muscled and very attractive. His son, ISU 7104 currently is the breed leader for the 120 d Wt. EPD.  He has sired the high selling Hampshire ram at the two previous Center of the Nation NSIP sales. Semen available.
